Dealing with the loss of someone that you’ve loved can be incredibly hard, whatever the circumstances of their death.
The humanist funerals and memorial services we offer are a personal and fitting way to say goodbye to those who have lived without religion. They bring people together to express sadness at the loss but also to celebrate the life lived. They focus sincerely and affectionately on the person who has died, paying tribute to the connections they made and left behind, and the way they lived their life.
Whilst a funeral director is the professional most likely to deal with the practical arrangements of a funeral, what type of ceremony you choose is entirely up to you. Humanist funerals – like all others – can be held in a variety of places, although in practice most are held in the crematoria we have locally – Denbighshire Memorial Park and Crematorium in St. Asaph or Bron-y-Nant Crematorium in Colwyn Bay. They can also be held in cemeteries or woodland burial sites, such as Boduan Sanctuary Wood near Pwllheli.
Most people who decide to have one of our funeral ceremonies just want a non-religious ceremony; you don’t have to be a humanist.
